Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to our common questions of our services.
Do you accept new patients?
Yes. Valley View Medical welcomes new patients of all ages. Whether you’re looking for a regular family GP or are new to the Lithgow area, our team is here to provide comprehensive, ongoing healthcare. Simply contact our reception team or book an appointment online to get started.
Is online booking available?
Yes. We offer secure online booking, allowing you to make an appointment at a time that suits you. If you are unable to find a suitable appointment online or require urgent medical attention, please contact our reception team directly, and we will do our best to assist.
Do you bulk bill?
Yes. Valley View Medical is a fully bulk billing practice for patients with a valid Medicare card. This means eligible consultations are billed directly to Medicare, with no out-of-pocket cost for standard GP services. Some procedures, medical reports, or services not covered by Medicare may incur a fee, and our reception team will advise you if this applies.
Is parking available?
Yes. Free on-site parking is available for our patients, making it easy and convenient to attend your appointment. Accessible parking is also available for patients with mobility needs.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
For your first visit, please bring:
- Your Medicare card
- Any concession or pension cards (if applicable)
- A list of your current medications
- Any recent test results, specialist letters or referral information relevant to your care
Arriving approximately 10 minutes before your appointment will allow time to complete any necessary registration forms.
Do you offer same-day appointments?
Yes. We aim to keep appointments available each day for patients who require urgent medical attention. While availability may vary, we encourage you to call the practice as early as possible if you need to be seen on the same day. Our reception team will help arrange the earliest suitable appointment or provide advice if immediate medical attention is required.
What should I do in a medical emergency?
If you or someone else is experiencing a medical emergency, call 000 immediately or attend your nearest hospital Emergency Department. Valley View Medical is a general practice and is not equipped to provide emergency medical care. If you are unsure whether your condition is urgent, please contact our reception team, who can provide guidance on the most appropriate course of action.
